Ik kom op internet dit schilderij tegen van Daniël Noteboom. Het bijschrift vermeldt dat het hier gaat om vissers die te paard zeilboten aan land trekken. Maar ik heb eerder het idee dat deze vissers met sleepnetten bezig zijn om garnt te vangen. Voor wie er andere ideeën over heeft: ik houd me aanbevolen. Het bijschrift luidt:

Huge Antique DANIEL NOTEBOOM Dutch Fishermen & Horses Seascape Oil Painting

This very large 29″ by 39″ Antique Oil Painting on stretched canvas is signed in the lower right hand corner by the Dutch artist, Daniel Noteboom (1877-1943). On the back of the stretcher, stamped with a red wax seal, is a label from Roelofs Art Gallery in Amsterdam. This label titles the painting “Vissers op paarden op het strand” (Fishermen on horses on the beach). This authentic Daniel Noteboom Oil Painting depicts several horseback fishermen pulling sailboats up onto the shore and there are also women carrying buckets of fish. The condition is excellent, with no in-painted restorations. It has been professionally re-lined, to stabilize the fine overall crazing to the surface, but that’s it. The large 52″ by 42″ gilded frame has been re-painted gold in several areas and there are some edge and corner gesso chips.

Ik had hem overigens al eens eerder te pakken, zij het in ietwat fletsere kleuren dan deze afbeelding.
